Ducks, Swans, and Geese in February

Winter Waterfowl
daily painting #57
6x6 inches watercolour on 140lb cold press paper
Today was a wonderful day to be birding in Chatham-Kent.  A trip to the
St. Clair National Wildlife Area yielded a full pond of waterfowl! I was lucky enough to identify
five different breeds in one marsh:

Tundra Swan
Canada Geese
Mallard
Northern Pintail
Bufflehead

And bonus - a pair of bald eagles were dancing about in the air above!

The last remaining evidence of the cold weather we had last week - no more snow, no ice, just a few frozen
drops on the branches closest to the water.
