I'm just amazed that you manage to do it so small...I love the drawing...what would we do w/out our pencils?????

I owe all my readers an apology for not responding sooner - I've been away from my computer for longer than anticipated!

Hilary, thank you. I loved visiting your blog today.

Karen, it's not quite effortless - it starts out simple enough but as I add each layer it's harder to know when to stop and when to add more...but I do love it. Thank you!

Deb, thank you :-) Love the new avatar - my sunflowers were late this year but they are blooming nicely now.

Kim, thanks for stopping by - it was a fun way to do my wordless wednesday - I was glad that I'd marked down some paint colors in pencil before I photographed one of them. The composition was mostly already there, I just moved the younger brother's head up a little closer and zoomed right in on the nitty gritty little boy smiles :-)

Noel, thank you - it's been a while since I've seen you. I'd be honored to be featured on your great blog. But do I have to do anything? LOL...I have a hard enough time keeping my own blog updated haha.

Deb, it's the details that make it so much fun. I love it! Thank you :-)

Twiddlestix, aren't they just adorable mouths? I love love love it. Thanks !!!

Amy, I'd die without pencils and paper. I'm a constant doodler. Sometimes I just want to stop at the sketch and not add water, but that's not where I'm at right now - and there are so many talented artists out there that can do so much more than I can with pencil (I'm thinking of Marsha over at the extraordinary pencil for example)
