my latest work-in-progress

I tend to get to a place in my paintings where I actually like the raw, unfinished look of it. Here is my latest, a 10x10 portrait that obviously has a long way to go...but I keep looking at it, and it's like writers block...where do I go from here without ruining it?

I know that by tonight or tomorrow I will carry on as usual, as if I hadn't been ready to throw in the towel. But for now, I like looking at it like this.

Wow! Very nice place to stop. I would try to keep that very faint tonal difference on the right side between the face and the background. That is very appealing.

I have to agree with Rob, this is beautiful just the way it is. Your portraits have a beautiful signature style to them. Wonderfully executed.

Just beautiful Christy. I love it the way it is...and you say it's 'obviously has a lot of work to be done on it yet...!' I'm sure when I see the finished product I will shake my head in awe.
